Snoop Commands

Access: Enabled.

Usage:

You can map the same ﬁlter to more than one radio. You can map up to eight ﬁlters

to the same radio. If more than one ﬁlter has the same observer, the AP sends only one

copy of a packet that matches a ﬁlter to the observer. After the ﬁrst match, the AP sends the

packet and stops comparing the packet against other ﬁlters for the same observer.

If the ﬁlter does not have an observer, the AP still maintains a counter of the number of packets

that match the ﬁlter.

Examples: The following command maps snoop ﬁlter snoop1 to radio 2 on Distributed AP3:

DWS-1008# set snoop map snoop1 dap 3 radio 2

success: change accepted.

set snoop mode

Enables a snoop ﬁlter. A snoop ﬁlter does not take effect until you map it to an AP radio and

enable the ﬁlter.

Examples:

set snoop {ﬁlter-name | all}

mode {enable [stop-after num-pkts] | disable}

ﬁlter-name | all} Name of the snoop ﬁlter. Specify all to

enable all snoop ﬁlters.

enable

[stop-after num-pkts]

Enables the snoop ﬁlter.

The stop-after option disables the ﬁlter

after the speciﬁed number of packets

match the ﬁlter. Without the stop-after

option, the ﬁlter operates until you disable

it or until the AP is restarted.

disable

Disables the snoop ﬁlter.

Defaults:

Snoop ﬁlters are disabled by default.

Access: Enabled.

Usage: The ﬁlter mode is not retained if you change the ﬁlter conﬁguration or disable and

reenable the radio, or when the AP or the switch is restarted. You must reenable

the ﬁlter to place it back into effect.

Examples: The following command enables snoop ﬁlter snoop1, and conﬁgures the ﬁlter to

stop after 5000 packets match the ﬁlter:

DWS-1008# set snoop snoop1 mode enable stop-after 5000

success: ﬁlter ‘snoop1’ enabled
